Meet Dr. Brown
Dr. Tanya Brown
My profession means that I have a purpose and a passion for serving people through dentistry. Working with patients gives me a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction because I get to change and improve people’s lives. We increase their self-confidence and improve their appearance and outlook on life. We help them have a positive experience with their dental care.
Education and Continuing Education
I complete over 100 hours annually of continuing education every year. I have completed the Dawson Academy for Advanced Dentistry curriculum, as well as taken several courses from Dr. Frank Spear of the Seattle Institute for Dental Education. I have also attended courses at the Pankey Institute, among others, and have taken courses on Invisalign. I have earned my Fellowship Award in the Academy of General Dentistry.
This benefits our patients because we are on the cutting edge of technology and techniques that modern dentistry has to offer. I choose to participate in continuing education because I want my patients to have the best care available.
In the Office
I have been a dentist for 11 years, but I have been working in dentistry since age 16. I always wanted to be a dentist since I love working with my hands and designing patients. I am passionate about changing people’s lives and helping patients achieve their goals. I get so excited about what modern dentistry has to offer and that it constantly changes and improves.
My team is a dedicated and passionate group. They provide 5-star customer service and truly care about the patients’ overall well-being and comfort. We all love to see our patients smile, and you will hear laughter throughout the office from patients and team members.
At Home and In the Community
I grew up just outside of Atlanta, Georgia in Fayetteville, and now I live in the Great Bridge/Hickory area of Chesapeake with my husband, Richard, and our cat, Sweet Tart. When I’m not in the office, I can be found jogging around the neighborhood, going to the pool, getting a manicure or pedicure, or working in the yard. I love traveling whenever I can.
I am passionate about empowering other women and dental and health related initiatives. Community involvement is important to me because this is the community that I call home, and I want it to be a better place! We are especially focused on improving the local Hampton Roads community. We are also involved in the Rotary Club of Great Bridge, EWI - Executive Women International, Children’s Dental Health Month, and Dental Access to Care Days. I volunteer at the Chesapeake Care Clinic and am also a YMCA board member.
